Here’s a basic Vanilla Sponge Cake recipe which you can bake either in oven or pressure cooker. Egg-less version is also included.

Ingredients for Vanilla Sponge Cake:

All-purpose flour/Maida – 1 ½ cups;
Baking powder – 1 ½ tsp;
Eggs – 3 large
(For eggless cake, replace the eggs with 1 ½ cups of condensed milk);
Salt – ½ tsp;
Sugar – 1 ½ cups (if using condensed milk, add only ¾ cup of sugar);
Refined oil/melted butter – ½ cup;
Vanilla extract/essence – 1 ½ tsp;
Plain yogurt/milk/sour cream – ½ cup;
Lemon zest (optional) – 1 tsp
